Timothy R. Hightower Timothy R. Hightower is an experienced trial attorney representing individuals, professionals, insurers and corporations in a wide range of civil litigation. He also represents various entities and individuals in pre-litigation investigation and fraud preemption. Mr. Hightower’s litigation strategy is simple – engage in value added service and seek early disposition when possible. As example, he successfully resolved a quintuplet death case exposure pre-litigation by employing multiple mediations. This resulted in favorable settlements without the expense and necessity of litigation. As further example, he was able to secure a summary judgment for his general contractor client (target defendant) with minimal discovery on a worksite injury case where the plaintiff was rendered a quadriplegic. As further example, he was able to secure settlement in line with an insurer’s value after conducting one examination under oath. Mr. Hightower has successfully tried cases in various counties throughout Texas. He received a zero verdict for his client in Jefferson County on a personal injury case. He also received an award of over $230,000 in attorney’s fees on a $2,100 counter-claim in Jackson County (commercial oil field services case wherein Plaintiff sought several hundred thousands of dollars). As another example, he recently received a defense verdict in Harris County wherein the Plaintiff had incurred over $100,000 in past medical bills (lower back surgery) and an estimate of $100,000 for a second, future back surgery. The jury awarded Plaintiff $40,000. Plaintiff rejected Defendant’s settlement offer of $160,000 and sought $480,000 from jury. Mr. Hightower is a licensed pilot and able to efficiently represent client’s interests in small areas which do not have cost effective air service. Mr. Hightower grew up in Houston, Texas graduating from Milby High School in 1980. He served in the United States Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard. He graduated from Troy State University with honors in 1988 and South Texas College of Law in 1995 where he was a member of the honors fraternity – Phi Delta Phi. Mr. Hightower is licensed to practice law in all Texas and several federal courts. Mr. Hightower was employed as a claims adjuster and litigation manager prior to completion of law school. He currently teaches CPCU courses for insurance professionals and is a sought after lecturer for various legal presentations. Mr. Hightower and his wife, Susan, have three beautiful children. His hobbies are tennis, scuba diving and flying.
