Using his business background as a CPA, Ira Weizel has established a solid reputation helping individuals, families and businesses with an assortment of legal needs. Ira’s areas of practice feature tax controversy, estate planning and probate issues, buy-sell agreements, contract negotiations, business sales and acquisitions. His specialties include representing taxpayers in disputes with the IRS as well as cases involving the United States Tax Court. Ira has more than 25 years’ experience counseling clients on various corporate and organizational matters such as the purchase and sale of numerous companies throughout Houston and Texas.

Ira also provides assistance to non-profit organizations in their exemption, qualification and tax-related matters, and serves on the board of directors of several non-profit organizations including Provision, Inc., an outstanding organization for Houston’s at-risk youth. Ira also serves on the board of Northland Christian School and is an active member of Cyfair Christian Church.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Ira earned his BS from St. John’s University in 1980. He then earned his JD from the University of Houston Law School in 1987. He is a Certified Public Accountant and received his CPA license in 1982. Ira is a member of the State Bar of Texas, US District Court, Southern District of Texas and the US Tax Court. He resides in Spring with his amazing wife Louise, and has two grown sons. Ira is a fan of many sports and especially enjoys basketball, golf, and fishing.
